Bob
grew up in Cleveland Ohio. His mother dragged him kicking and screaming to a
community Theatre acting class when he was 8 and the stage bug bit him.
Cleveland was always a theatre town, but Bob got lucky when he met a few gifted
and talented Directors and Musicians. Throughout his early years, he performed
in several Little Theatre productions at Lakewood Theatre/Beck Center and
danced, sang, and choreographed for major fashion shows in Cleveland...GQ LIVE
with Cindy Crawford, and VOGUE At Severance Hall.
After few years in college on the North Coast, Bob traveled west to the City of
Angels...Los Angeles...Where he worked in the world of TV and
film...appearing on Comedy Central's Comics Only with Paul Provenza, LATER with
Greg Kinnear...and made numerous other appearances on many shows. During his years on COMICS ONLY he met and worked with all
the best Comics of the last decade: Phillis Diller, Sam Kinnison, Judy Tenuta,
Bobcat Goldthwait and many more.
His Costume Design, Wardrobe & Make-up, and Art Department talents opened many
doors, bringing him onto sets with actors like Rita Moreno, Patrick Stewart, Tony Danza
and more...
But Theatre was his passion...and after years of struggling, he finally got THE
audition. A chance for the lead in Richard O'Brien's THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. He
landed the role and his theatre career has not stopped since his first
appearance onstage as the sexy-high-heeled transvestite, Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
ROCKY was a great catalyst for Bob, but the US Tour fell short of
expectations...So? On to Europe, where he is the quintessential FRANK. For three
years he toured the continent, performing in hundreds of cities in ten
countries. Then, the Tiffany Theater in Los Angeles called and he performed to
sold-out houses and received brilliant reviews. In 1999 he won the prestigious
LA Ovation Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Frank.
Europe called again and while touring in ROCKY ITALY 2000, Bob rediscovered his
love of that country and the passion of it's people. Through the lucky words of
a loved one over a glass of wine, he met and became friends with an Italian
Musical Producer.
Leading roles in SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, EVITA, and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR
followed. In 2002 Bob was nominated for two ITALIAN MUSICAL AWARDS. He was the
only American nominated and the only person nominated for two separate awards.
Best Actor for EVITA and Best Supporting Actor in SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. He took
home the Award for his portrayal of Monty in SATURDAY NIGHT.
From his early days doing community theatre and college productions like WEST
SIDE STORY, THE KING AND I, CABARET, A CHORUS LINE and OLIVER, to his
award-winning professional career in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, EVITA and JESUS
CHRIST SUPERSTAR; Bob's true passion in life is theater!
"I don't care where I perform...LA, NY, Berlin, Rome...Any stage is home. Thanks
to everyone in my life who has helped me and supported me! The best is yet to
come!
